Outgoing Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, on Tuesday, led the man believed to have been anointed as his successor, AIG Adamu Mohammed, to met President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Mohammed, an Assistant Inspector General of Police ( AIG) is rumored to have been nominated by the President on Monday as the new police inspector-general, IGP
Idris and Adamu, arrived the villa at about 10:55a.m., and moved straight to the office of Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari.
The meeting with Mohammed was said to be part of the process according to Presidency sources, and meant to precede his appointment.

IGP Idris performed his last function as IGP at the Armed Forces Remembrance Day where he laid the wreath in Abuja, on Tuesday.
A Presidency source hinted that Mohammed is one of the shortlist for the position of IGP.
According to the source, if he gets the nod, it means the DIGs may be required to retire.
