The protesters are a group under the aegis of Kogites Disapora Coalition (KDC), stormed the Nigeria House, brandishing various placards with several inscriptions like ‘Kogi State Must Not Retun to Dark Days of Blood Letting’, ‘Kogites in Diasporal Say no to Resurgence of Violence in Our State’, ‘Kogites Ready to Stand Against Disguised Enemies’, ‘Bitter Politicians and Security Agents Must Invite Those Defending Terrorism in the Media Now’, among other inscriptions.

The protesters, led by one Ayo Akinuli-Kofar, said they came to the Nigeria House to formally send the group’s message to President Muhammadu Buhari, through Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and also is to ensure that the High Commissioner take their petition seriously and deliver same to President Muhammadu Buhari which he said had earlier been delivered to the High Commission, last week.

The protesters’ request specifically was for President Buhari to ensure that the sponsors, defenders and perpetrators of terrorism and banditry which is resurfacing in the state after some years of reprieve from insecurity are investigated and brought to book without further delay.

They vowed that the protest would continue should the presidency, the state government and security agencies delay or refuse to ensure the arrest and prosecution of alleged defenders and enablers of insecurity in the state among of whom is a prominent female politician but whom Governor Yahaya Bello seems not to be keen in bringing to book due to what the group described as “political correctness”.
