Boy in police trouble for drugging, raping teenager

The Lagos State Police Command has nabbed an18-year-old boy who allegedly drugged a 15-year-old girl and raped her in the Ejigbo area council the state.

The suspect, Pelumi Oloyide, reportedly lured the victim to an undisclosed hotel at Jakande Estate, Ejigbo, where he committed the offence and is now in the dragnet of operatives of the Ejigbo Police Divisional Station, who arrested him following a complaint by the victim’s family.

Oloyide resides at Uriel Adegbenro Street, Egan area of Igando, but had gone to the victim’s house at Ilepo area of Ejigbo to install a prepaid meter.

He ended up luring her to a hotel, drugged her drink and raped her thereafter when she went to get the code number of the meter at Jakande Estate.

“The girl slept off and when she woke up, she discovered that she was raped. She then informed her parents about what had happened to her.

“The matter was reported to the Police at Ejigbo Division and the DPO, CSP Olabisi Okuwobi, ordered for the arrest of the suspect.

“He was eventually tracked and arrested at Igando,” a police source disclosed.

Oloyide allegedly confessed to the act during interrogation, claiming that he was under the influence of drugs. Pleading for forgiveness, he added that he took 400mg of Tramadol daily without the knowledge of his parents.

However, the police source said he would be charged to court for the alleged offence.
