Boko Haram terrorists kill 65 mourners in Borno

Some members of the Boko Haram terrorists, operating in the North Eastern of the country, last Saturday, launched an attack on mourners in a village in Nganzai Local Government Area of Borno State.

About 65 people were reportedly killed in the attack It was gathered that the attack by the terrorists came a week after some communities had confronted Boko Haram insurgents in the area and killed 11 of them.

It was gathered that the residents of the community also seized several rifles from the terrorists during the attack.

However, in what appears to be a reprisal from the terrorists, some mourners, who were returning from a funeral, were attacked and killed.

The chairman of Nganzai council, Mohammed Bulama, while speaking during a condolence visit by Governor Babagana Zulum, said the terrorists killed over 60 mourners and left 11 others injured.

Said he, “Two weeks ago, Boko Haram insurgents attacked Badu village but the attack was repelled by the villagers and members of the vigilante group,”

“The villagers resisted the attack, killed 11 insurgents and recovered 10 AK-47 rifles in the encounter.

“On Saturday, at about 11:40am, the insurgents came on a reprisal mission, attacking mourners at a grave yard in the area, killing over 60 persons and injuring 11 others,” the chairman said.
