Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists suffer losses as troops foil attack on Darak military base, kill 10

A coordinated attack by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists on the Darak military base in Cameroon on December 18, 2024 was foiled by troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), operating under Sector 1 in Mora.

Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osoba, Chief Military Information Officer, disclosed in a statement that 10 of the terrorists were neutralised.

According to him, the terrorists had attacked the base from different directions but lost six members in the ensuing fierce gun duel while the rest fled with gunshot wounds.

However, five soldiers were injured during the encounter and are currently receiving medical attention in hospital.

In a follow-up operation, MNJTF troops ambushed the fleeing wounded terrorists along their regrouping route near Mazogo, a village between Zamba and Djibirilli and killed four more terrorists and also recovered assorted food items belonging to the attackers.
