Justice Usman Na’aba of a Kano State High Court has sentenced the kidnapper and killer of Kano State schoolgirl to death by hanging.
The five-year-old Hanifa Abubakar was abducted and killed by the proprietor of her school, proprietor of Noble Kids Academy, Abdulmalik Tanko, who was also handed a five-year jail term on all the charges levelled against him.
The court also found the 2nd defendant in the case, Hashim Isiyaku, guilty of four charges and sentenced him to death by hanging.
A two-year prison term was also slammed on Isiyaku for attempted kidnapping.
Kano State government had arraigned the trio of Abdulmalik (Proprietor of Nobel Kids Academy and North West Preparatory School) alongside his accomplice, Hashim Isyaku and Fatima Jibrin on a five-count charge, bordering on criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, confinement and culpable homicide.
