Isaac Ombe, Yenagoa
The Member representing Brass Constituency 3 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Abraham Ingobere, has been re-elected as Speaker of the House for the second term.
Hon. Ngobere, who is serving his constituency for the fourth term in the Assembly, was nominated by the Member representing Southern Ijaw Constituency 2, Hon. Monday-Bubou Obolo, and seconded by Hon. Bernard Kenebai, the Member representing Sagbama Constituency 2 to emerge the Speaker of the 7th Assembly shortly after a letter from Governor Douye Diri, who was absent, which dissolved the 6th Assembly and the subsequent proclamation of the 7th Bayelsa State House Assembly.
The letter was read by the Clerk of the House, Mr. Tenedia Adogu.

Also, Hon. Michael Ogbere, the Member representing Ekeremor Constituency 3, was re-elected unopposed as the deputy Speaker of the Assembly.
Hon. Ogbere, is serving his third term, was nominated by the Member representing Brass Constituency 1, Charles Daniel and seconded by the Member representing Kolokuma/Opokuma Constituency 2, Wisdom Fafi to emerge the deputy Speaker.
The Oath of Office and Allegiance were administered on the speaker and his deputy and the other 22 Members by the Clerk of the House, Mr. Adogu.
In his inaugural speech, the Speaker, Hon. Ingobere expressed gratitude to the Members for finding him worthy and promised to run an open door leadership.

He appealed for support of members in the tasks of making laws for the development of the state.
Large crowed of well wishers gathered around the State Assembly complex to merry with their loved ones who were part of the members elect.
The atmosphere was festive various entertainment groups waited and letter displayed their talents shortly after the ritual of inauguration .
The 20 members that returned to the state’s Assembly were spotted in various parts of the sprawling state capital having reception with relatives, friends and well-wishers as planned.
