Bandits fail to abduct Zamfara Hajj Commission chair, kill son, aide

Bandits on Thursday invaded the residence of the Chairman of the Zamfara State Haji Commission, ZSHC, Alhaji Musa Malaha in Gusau, the state capital.

However, they did not succeed in their bid to kidnap Malaha but one of his sons, Abdulmunaf, and his gateman, were killed.

Also, it was learned that another of his sons, Mu’awiyya Lawali, was taken away by the bandits alongside other residents of the area.

The bandits reportedly raided Malaha’s house in the wee hours while shooting sporadically.

“The shootings woke us up as everyone in the area started running helter skelter. Nobody can exactly say how many people were killed or kidnapped,” a resident of the area disclosed.

“But it was certain that one of the chairman’s sons and his watchman were killed while another of his sons was kidnapped.”

The bandits are yet to make any demands for ransom.

Meanwhile, the Zamfara State Police Command is yet to issue any statement on the incident.
