Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has won in the two local government areas of Bayelsa so far declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The state returning officer, Prof. Zana Akpagbo, announced two out of eight local governments in the state, namely Yenagoa and Kolokuma/Opokuma.
In Kolokuma/Opokuma local government, Atiku polled 16, 040 while Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 3, 938.

According to the returning officer. total number of registered votes was 52, 780, accredited votes 22, 403 and the total votes cast 21, 350 while valid votes stood at 20, 406, and rejected votes 944.
In Yenagoa Local Government, PDP scored 37, 676 against APC’s 7, 483.
Meantime, collation has been suspended pending arrival of results from other local governments and the process will resume.
