…Prevent students, lecturers from entering
The main entrance of the Lagos State University (LASU) was, on Monday, taken over and put under locks by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU).
The members of the unions gathered at the gate of the school at around 7 a.m to prevent students and lecturers from gaining entrance.
Their action which locked out the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagboun, is demanding the payment of minimum wage.
Efforts by the VC to appeal to the unions to open the gate for academic activities to commence fell on deaf ears.
LASU had announced today, September 14, as the resumption date for final year students while those of other levels will resume on November 9.
