The Nigerian Army has said it recorded a huge victory against the dreaded Boko Haram sect, killing 27 of its members and recovering arms and ammunition from them.
This was contained in a statement by Army spokesman, Col. Sagir Musa, which claimed that troops of Sector 1 Operation LAFIA DOLE, in a joint clearance operation with Chadian Defence Forces, on April 13, 2019, had a fierce encounter with the terrorists at the Northern part of Wulgo, Tumbuma, Chikun Gudu and Bukar Maryam villages.
Col. Musa said during the operations, 27 terrorists were sent to permanent discomforting sleep.
He listed the following items as recovered from them:

- Several Motor Cycles
- 5 x AK 47 Rifles
- 1 x Automatic Revolver Galil Rifle
- 1 x G3 Rifle
- 2 x General Purpose Machine Gun
- 2 x Anti Aircraft Guns
- 4 x Rocket Propelled Gun Tubes
- 1 x PK Machine Gun
- 1 x M21 Rifle
- 1 x Locally Made Dane Gun
- 5 x Rocket Propelled Gun Tubes Bombs
- 1000 x Assorted rounds of different calibre ammunition
- 5 x AK 47 Magazines
- Several Links of 12.7 MM
- 1 x Land Cruiser Buffalo
- 1 x Nissan GT
- 1 x Land Cruiser destroyed
- 1 x flag and a Grinding Machine
There was no casualty on the part of the Nigerian and Chadian Forces.
The spokesman further noted that the coordinated military operation is ongoing especially in the fringes of Gombaru – Ngala and surrounding areas to deal with the fleeing bandits running out from Multi-National Joint Task Force (Operation YANCIN TAFKI) onslaught on their hideouts.
