…’Leader of APC, Chief Sylva’ll ensure peace’

Following the Court injunction that stopped Saturday’s All Progressives Congress ( APC) Congresses in Bayelsa State , the Caretaker Secretary of APC, in Bayelsa State, Mr. Alabo Martins, has urged party faithful to remain calm and wait for further directives.
The case was adjourned to August 9, 2021, as party faithful were confident that the case would make APC stronger in Bayelsa State with Chief Timipre Sylva as Leader of the party.
In a statement issued, on Saturday, Martins who informed that the party was taking proactive steps to address the court injunction stopping its congresses however condemned the actions of some aggrieved party members who, described as ‘unscrupulous elements’.
He noted with regret how some party faithful disguise as party members in the day, but Judases at night, with sole aim to cause tension and disunity due to their selfish ambitions, he urged the party faithful to keep faith with the party.
The Caretaker Secretary says the party was ready to tackle the matter head-on, and create a stronger APC, towards its growth and development.
Expressing the Party’s determination to abide by the Court order, Martins said that as a law-abiding party, the APC would not take laws into its hands by going contrary to the Court injunction as any unguided moves would jeopardise the effort the party has made so far.
Further calling on those with genuine interest of the party at heart to stay calm and focused during the challenging time, he assured that any existing litigation would be dealt with before proceeding on the Congress to ensure a smooth and Hitch Free process.
He, however, warned that the party would not hesitate to take decisive measures against anyone who deliberately sabotages the effort of the APC in Bayelsa and the scheduled Congresses as the leadership has come a long way in repositioning the party.
The APC scribe also solicited the support and cooperation of members for APC to be a role model for other parties and also urged aggrieved members to channel their grievances to the appropriate quarters at the party secretariat.
The aggrieved APC members in the state that filled the case at the Yenagoa High Court included Ompadec Victor, Esuenifen Obi and Seimiegha Ebibofe Agbozu .

The High Court presided over by Enekinimi Uzaka, in a judgment Saturday ordered a stop to the proposed congress pending the determination of the motion of notice before the court, which was however adjourned to the 9th of August for the hearing of the motion.
Before the court’s injunction, party faithful were hopeful of a peaceful consensus candidates from wards had started tricking to the Baybridge Main Secretariat of the party Friday evening . But most party supporter were disappointed to H ear the sudden announcement of the court injunction.
However Mr. Progresses Theodore, a party faithful. who spoke on the development expressed confidence that the leader of the party in the state would wade into the matter for they party to come out stronger in the state .
“Chief Timipre Sylva is the leader of APC in Bayelsa state and the case at hand will be settled amicably, we trust his ability” , noted Theodore who spoke at the party secretariat Saturday evening .
