APC pegs Ekiti, Osun guber forms at N22.5m

APC, The All Progressives Congress has pegged the cost of the nomination form and expression of interest form for the governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states at N20m and N2.5m, respectively.

The forms are already on sale at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja from Tuesday, November 16, 2021, and will terminate on  Tuesday, January 11, 2022.
According to the National Secretary of the APC Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee, John Akpanudodehe, this followed the nod given the schedule of activities for the twin governorship elections by the party’s leadership in accordance with the provisions of the amended Electoral Act 2010 and Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, guidelines.

Akpanudodehe further said female and physically challenged aspirants would be granted a 50 per cent waiver.

Interest in the governorship election in the two states is heightening, with some of the interested aspirants jostling to position themselves to emerge flag bearers of their respective parties.
The opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is leaving nothing to chance, as Sen. Biodun Olujimi, the lawmaker representing Ekiti South Senatorial District in the Senate, on Sunday, announced her interest to throw her hat in the ring.

She is reportedly one of nine female aspirants among the 17 PDP aspirants that have so far obtained the party’s nomination forms the PDP national Secretariat, also in Abuja.

In declaring her interest to run for the number one office in Ekiti State, Olujimi, s former deputy governor, told journalists in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital: “What we need is the right leadership. And Olujimi is the right person.”

Without a doubt, full activities for the  2022 governorship polls in Ekiti and Osun states are set to kick off in earnest, following the commencement of the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms by the APC.
