APC crisis: S’ South leaders shop for Oshiomhole’s replacement

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the South South, on Thursday, met behind closed doors at the instance of Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State.

It was believed that the meeting was to commence moves to replace embattled national leader of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

This was despite the call by the national vice chairman,  South south of the party, Hillard Eta, for the boycott of meeting of the ruling party.

Notable personalities sighted at the meeting holding at the Edo State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, were Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, a former Edo State governor, Oserheimen Osunbor, immediate past Director General of Nigerian Maritime Safety  Administration Agency (NIMASA),  Dakuku Peterside and Sen. Ndoma-Egba.

Others were a former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs,  Usani Usani, factional chairman of Edo state chapter of the party,  Anselm Ojezua, Sen. Domingo Obende, Sen. James  Akpan Udoedege, Chief Ray Murphy, leader South-South Stakeholders Forum, amongst others.

The meeting, according to findings, was to find a replacement from the zone for the embattled national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole.
