Peter Obi, the vice presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in 2019 has congratulated the winner of the Anambra State governorship election, Prof Chukwuma Soludo.
Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, was declared the winner with 103,946 votes, while his closet rival, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Valentine Ozigbo, polled 51,322.
Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra also expressed gratitude to the people of the state “who braved all odds and came out to perform their civic duties”.
He urged the people to support the in-coming governor through prayers and other legitimate means to ensure that the state “returns to her former glory as the ‘Light of the Nation’”.
Peter Obi also said he would continue “to commit the state into God’s hands for His will to be done at all times”.
