AMAC boss seeks Igbo people’s collaboration

Malam Abdullahi Candido, the Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) has called on Igbo people to collaborate with the administration in providing dividend of democracy to the residents.

Candido made this known on Wednesday in Abuja at a thanksgiving ceremony, organised by Igbo indigenes in AMAC to usher in the second tenure of Mr Lawrence Onuchukwu as the Vice Chairman of the council.

He said the unity of Igbo with other ethnic groups was very important for the growth of the economy in the council.

He, however, gave the assurance of improving infrastructure for the development of the Council, adding that his first priority is the construction of AMAC School of the gifted in Orozo.

“The first thing we intend to do this time around is to ensure that we put in place AMAC School for the gifted, ICT and innovation centre.

“Within the next two week, we hope to lay the foundation of the projects in Orozo and in the next five months the physical structure will be ready.’’

Onuchukwu thanked God for returning as the Vice Chairman and assured Igbo and other residents to perform better in his service to the council.

According to him, the first three years tenure have given him the experience to do better in providing democracy dividend to the people.

Malam Mohammed Bello, the Minister of FCT on Monday swore in six Chairmen of the Area Councils comprising AMAC, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje Kwali and Abaji. (NAN)
