A former Commissioner for Information and Strategy, in Ondo State, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, at the weekend, received a befitting grassroots honour, as the media icon was decorated with an award for his contributions to the development of his home town, Idanre.
Hon. Akinmade served in the administration of the former Governor Olusegun Mimiko where he proved his mettles as undisputable Media Icon.
The award presentation was part of activities marking the 45th coronation anniversary of the Owa of Idanre, His Royal Highness, Oba Frederick Aroloye.
The event which took place in Idanre, Ondo state, on Saturday. December, 11, 2021, was attended by indigenes of the town from far and near, as the rich culture of the people was on display.
indigenes of the town described Oba Aroloye’s 45-year reign as colourful, memorable and eventful.

Chairman of the coronation anniversary, Anthony Omolola, said his reign has brought rapid development to Idanre, asserting that Idanre has witnessed tremendous growth and development since he became the king 45 years ago.
His words, “We are proud to associate ourselves with him. His reign has been prosperous and eventful. He is a respected traditional ruler, who loves his people. When he ascended the throne, we had only two schools, today we have more and more schools.”
