Again, gunmen strike in Ebonyi, kill two security personnel

In yet another dastardly attack, unidentified gunmen have killed two members of the South East Security Outfit, dubbed Ebubeagu, in Ebonyi State.

The heinous act, which also reportedly left many with bullet wounds, was perpetrated at the Ebebe Junction of Abakaliki, the state capital.

Sources in the area said the gunmen, who wore face masks, struck at about 7:00pm and rode on two motorcycles.

They reportedly opened fire on the Ebubeagu operatives, killing two of them.

“The unknown gunmen killed two Ebubeagu operatives. The unknown gunmen came with  motorcycles and they covered their faces,” one of the sources narrated.

“The unknown gunmen were shooting sporadically and they injured many people, but two persons died on the spot.”

The state security consultant, Mr. Stanley Okoro Emegha, confirmed the killing.

Police spokesperson, Chris Anyanwu also confirmed the incident and identified the victims, as 40-year-old Udu Samuel Elekwe and Igwe Emmanuel, aged 30 years.
