The March 15 Africa X1 versus Naija Legends game billed for the Onikan Stadium, Lagos, in honour of outgoing Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode, got more support in Senegal at the Aiteo CAF awards with more African stars signing up to be part of the game.
The Nigerian Xpress Sports gathered that the event which has already received the blessings of Liberian President George Opong Weah and Didier Drogba was endorsed by several ex-internationals that graced the CAF awards.
Former Super Eagles player, Waidi Akanni, in a mail sent to The Nigerian Xpress Sports disclosed that Guinea’s Aboubakar Titi Camara, Diomansy Camara of Fulham, Patrick Mboma (Cameroon), Jeremy Njitap, Salif Diao, Fredrick Kanoute (Mali) and Khalidou Fadiga have all given their consent to be in Lagos for game which Nigerian ex-internationals are using to honour Ambode.

“It was a huge success for us here in Senegal. It would be a full house of ex-internationals in Lagos on March 15. Titi Camara, Njitap, Kanoute, Mboma…all have accepted to be in Lagos,” Akanni disclosed.
Akanni further disclosed that a soccer clinic ahead of the show would hold January 28 at Campos Square in Lagos for young male and female soccer talents. Samson Siasia alongside several other big names would take charge of the Soccer clinic that has the backing of Access Bank and other corporate bodies.
