Vice President for Agriculture, Human and Social Development at the African Development Bank, Dr. Jennifer Blanke, has resigned her position.
The AfDB revealed this on Wednesday in a statement. According to the statement,Blanke’s resignation would take effect July 4, 2020.
Dr. Blanke was appointed as Vice-President, Agriculture, Human and Social Development, December 1, 2016 and as such, joined the Senior Management Team of the Bank.
An American-Swiss, Dr. Jennifer Blanke, on appointment, was eulogized as a renowned and globally “respected development economist, with over 20 years of experience.”
She was also at the time said to be the Chief Economist and member of the Executive Committee of the World Economic Forum, Davos, Switzerland, “where she provides global leadership on economic and development issues.”
At the time, she had worked for 14 years at the World Economic Forum, including as Senior Director, Lead Economist and Senior Program Manager, before joining the AfDB.
