A rights activist and political analyst, Comrade Mark Adebayo, has congratulated Nigerians on the peaceful atmosphere in the country pre-and pro-presidential election despite some scary projections to the contrary, saluting the commitment of Nigerians to the democratic process, just as he “urged all political divides to close ranks and collaborate to work together in the overall interest of our dear country, Nigeria.”

Comentting on the process that led to the conclusion of the presidential election of February 25. Adebayo who observed that, “the process was definitely not infallible however admitted that no election ever was, pointing out that, “even in advanced democracies they still experience hiccups in their elections but there are systemic remedial mechanisms to mitigate the shortcomings and the society moves on.”

According to him, democracy would remain an ever-improving phenomenon which perfection is undoubtedly far-fetched but there is no better alternative to it now, urging Nigerians to maintain the peace at all costs, for the sake of all of us, especially the vulnerable who are in the overwhelming majority.
