Access, Diamond merger: Customers asked not to panic

Customers and staff of defunct Diamond Bank have been assured of strong synergy and cooperation between them and the management of Access Bank

This assurance is coming following the recent merger of the two banks on Monday, March 18, 2019.

The Executive Director, Business Banking, Access Bank, Chizoma Okole said this during a customers’ forum held in Owerri, capital of Imo State.

While assuring of effective business transaction and cooperation with their customers, she said that no staff of the old Diamond Bank has been asked to leave, rather they were offered the same salary structure with the staff of Access Bank across the country.

She said: “no staff of the old Diamond Bank has been treated as second class citizen.”

Speaking at the same event, the Directional Head, Retails South East, Jude Anele explained the reasons behind the Access/Diamond merger, adding that Diamond Bank recognizes that Access Bank was the fastest growing bank in Nigeria.

He said that Access Bank remains big in cooperate organization, saying that with the merger, Access/Diamond is now bigger than other banks having over 600 branches across the country

Meanwhile, a customer at the bank, Mrs. Jona Ogueri  complained about the welfare of staff of the old Diamond and asked Diamond bank management to ensure they move forward and advised that they should be carried along while Mr.Emma Duru warned against casualization of staff of old Diamond Bank and appealed that they be taken care off.
