The Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration in Ogun State has received a damning verdict from a former Speaker of the state’s House of Assembly who is also a two terms Commissioner under the Sen. Ibikunle Amosun administration, Bashorun Muyiwa Oladipo.
Oladipo, who made this assertion while briefing newsmen at the backdrop of the Abiodun’s government failure to provide dividends of democracy to the masses, held in his office at Oke-Yeke, Isabo Abeokuta, said Ogun indigenes were yet to experience the much talked-about his electioneering campaign promises.
He said that the current administration in the State is incompetent and non-performance, saying the governor (Abiodun) is already jittery of imminent defeat at the polls, especially from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), gubernatorial candidate, Barr. Biyi Otegbeye, which stands of winning of the race.

“Indeed, the Abiodun’s administration has failed the masses, he was not in charge of governance of the state, there are some canals within his government, we have not seen much infrastructural facilities promised, the poor was getting poorer, while “a tiny club of nouveau riche, state civil servants are wallowing in abject poverty under his administration”, Oladipo said
He added that the Abiodun’s administration is owing civil servants twenty four (24) months deduction, years of leave bonuses and many more, saying market women/men, motorists and commuters in state were complaining of inability to live a normal life under his watch.

He said “over three years now, there has been no positive change in the major indices of growth and development, be it poverty reduction among the civil servants, safety and security, disease control or access to basic amenities and even public good”.
“Sincerely speaking, this administration did not prepare for governance, considering the growing insecurity, dilapidation infrastructure, bad roads, educational decadence and level of hardship undergoing by the indigenes across the state, especially among the public/civil servants in the state”, Oladipo said
He added that the current government appeared to have no direction in its policies, thereby causing inhabitants to be disillusioned with it, noting that he has in recent times embarked on renovation of some roads, which could not stands the test of a time, so as to use it as a bate for people’s vote comes 2023.
“In fact, democracy in the state is still seen superficially as what leaders do for the people rather than government by the people, he promised heaven on earth during the 2019 electioneering campaign, now to no avail, another elections is around the corner he has started cajoling the people through sub-standard projects across the state, that’s more reason people need to shine their faces”, Oladipo said
