Mr Nnamdi Umeh, Anambra House of Assembly member-elect has promised to attract more developmental projects to the people of Aguata 1 State Constituency.
Umeh made the promise while speaking to newsmen in Awka on Monday on the achievements of Chief Willie Obiano as Governor of Anambra in the past five years.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Obiano assumed office as Anambra governor on March 17, 2014 and celebrated the first year of his second term on Sunday.

Umeh said the state had experienced sustained development in all sectors of the economy, saying that it could only be better in the years ahead. The legislator-elect said that beyond piloting the affairs of Anambra effectively, Obiano had demonstrated strong leadership for the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as the leader and Chairman, Board of Trustees.
“I want to join millions of good people of Anambra and residents to congratulate our amiable governor, Chief Willie Obiano on his fifth anniversary and for all God has used him to do.
“Under him, human capital development reached all-time high; agriculture and economy boomed and we became a net exporter of rice.
Anambra is now one of the most secured states in Nigeria. Again, without being an oil-producing state, salaries and allowances of workers are paid regularly. Pensioners are getting their gratuity and other benefits. So his administration has been a blessing to us,’’ he said.

Umeh appreciated the people of his constituency for their massive votes which ensured his victory, promising to run an all-inclusive representation.
He said he would use his advantage of being an APGA legislator to work with the executives and ensure government’s presence and projects in the nine wards of the constituency.
“I will not victimise any community or ward in Aguata 1 on account of their voting behavior. We all are one people and now that they have supported me to be their representative, I shall be fair and open to all.
I promise to be transparent and work to ensure that the needs of my constituency which are within my reach are addressed. That is the only way that I can thank them for supporting me on March 9.
For those who contested with me, I appreciate the competition they provided and extend my arms of fellowship to them, so that together we can work for the good of Aguata South,’’ he said. (NAN)
