The Private Secretary of Muhammed Haliru Dantoro, the Emir of Borgu, Abubakar Jibrin, on Sunday announced the emir’s approval of the suspension of five senior councilors of Borgu, following allegations that they allowed Fulani herdsmen into communities within the Emirate.
In a statement, the emir’s private secretary, said the decision was taken at an emergency meeting held at the emir’s Gbemusu Palace. He explained that the councilors’ alleged offence contravened the directives of the Borgu traditional ruler and the Niger State government.
