The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), says no fewer than 5, 000 registered voters are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.
The Kuje Area Council Electoral Officer, Mrs Zainab Gbefwi, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kuje on Thursday.
According to her, the number of uncollected PVCs as at November 2018, was 13, 000 and has reduced to 5, 000 so far.
He said that the level of PVC collection in the area was encouraging.

Gbefwi said the uncollected PVCs spanned the registration periods of 2014, 2016 and 2018.
“Political parties have a strategic role to play; so we urge them to talk to their supporters to send the message to the grassroots.
“We also urge all registered voters to go out and collect their cards ahead of the general elections.
“We have been visiting Churches and Mosques for advocacy and have visited traditional rulers to help us talk to their subjects for peaceful elections.
“We are appealing to registered voters to come and collect their PVCs so that they can exercise their franchise,’’ she said.
She, however, called on the youth in the area not to allow themselves to be used by desperate politicians to foment trouble or perpetrate electoral malpractice during the elections.
The electoral officer also urged residents of the area to come out en-masse and vote leaders of their choice. (NAN)
