Speakers of the 36 Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, on Thursday, endorsed ongoing processes by the National Assembly to make provision for state policing in the nation’s constitution, The Nation reports.
The Nation reports that the two chambers of the National Assembly are working to further alter some provisions in 1999 constitution.

The speakers made their resolution known in a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting of the conference of speakers of state legislatures held, in Abuja, on Thursday.
Speaker of the Oyo House of Assembly and chairman of the conference, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, signed the communiqué.
