A Political Economist and member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Adakole Ijogi, has said that more than half of the members of his party would be voting for the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, on the election day.
Speaking during an appearance in an interview on Channels Television, Ijogi explained that the preference for Obi over the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, was because the time had come for Nigerians to think about the best choice for the country instead of being biased by party loyalty.
The party chieftain posited that everyone would be affected by the pains that would arise from making the wrong choice of a leader irrespective of party affiliation.

Hear him, “In a political system, especially like the one we have created in Nigeria, there will always come a time when certain hard decisions have to be taken in the interest of our country.
“It’s not about politics now; it’s not about party, and besides a political party is just a platform to get political power. I can tell you that over 50-60% of the members of the People’s Democratic Party, we are not going to be voting for Atiku Abubakar.
“They might not come out on air to say it but on that day, they are going to cast their votes for Peter Obi.

“They are not Labour Party members. Now we are looking at political parties at one hand and Nigeria on the other; at the end of the day the pains of bad government will be felt by everybody.”
The quartet of Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian Nigeria Peoples (NNPP) shall be slugging it out at the February 25 poll when Nigerians shall elect President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor.
