Renowned security expert, international businessman from the famous Adegbenro political clan of Ogun State, Otunba Adejare Adegbenro has endorsed a second term in office for the incumbent governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, asserting that his performance has earned him right.
The internationally exposed security guru, in a media interaction also took a critical look at all the three leading presidential candidates and declared strongly that, the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu stands shoulder high than the rest, stating unequivocally that he has what it takes to steer the ship of the nation to the promised land.
The respected and outspoken Egba High Chief bared his mind on the socio-political and security situation in the country, expressed the conviction that, “as things stand in the country today, Asiwaju Tinubu has demonstrated that he has the Midas touch for a better Nigeria, adding that he has shown clear commitment to a better Nigeria than any other candidates in the race.

His words: “As you all know, my maternal grandfather, late Pa Alfred Rewane, was a key financier of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), that fought the military dictators to a standstill before he was cruelly murdered by unknown gunmen, suspected to be agents of the state in October 1995.
“In this struggle with him was Tinubu, who worked closely with him for the restoration of democratic rule. Tinubu was like a son to my grandfather, Rewane. Since he served as governor of Lagos State till today, he is the only person that has been successfully fueling humanitarian activities and his master plan for Lagos works like magic. I wish him the best. And when he becomes President, he should enforce discipline so we can move forward as a nation. I would rather support someone I know his history, rise, virtues and struggle.
“Out of the three frontline candidates, only Asiwaju Tinubu and Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP’s) Atiku Abubakar, are well exposed for the presidential position.
“However, Asiwaju has a track record of performance as a substantive governor of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007.
“He held his own, laid foundation for modern Lagos we are enjoying today. I have no doubt about his capabilities to replicate it at the national level. Lagos is still the safest, despite its population of about 25 million people. Some are peddling falsehood that he’s sick, can a sick person, move around the way he does. Everyday he is working. In fact, his schedule is busier than some incumbent governors. Only God giveth and taketh.”
On Governor Abiodun’s second term bid, Otunba Adegbenro said that the governor of Ogun state, Prince Dapo Abiodun has transformed the state with monumental projects across the state that will outlive him.
“Dapo Abiodun has done well for my state. I’m a blunt person and I’m very economical with commendations, but whatever I say about the Governor Abiodun-led administration is known to the good people of the state.
“There’s no vacancy in the governor’s office. He’s a performing governor. As close as I am to him, its hard to see him and it’s better to see a working governor than the one who only talks and junkets round the world.

“The agro-cargo airport that seemed unrealistic has now berthed in Ilishan Remo, and swiftly, big investments are coming into the state. That’s just one out of many. The Gateway State recorded a record ₦100 billion internally generated revenue, IGR, last month occasioned by his drive. The state is not one of the states that heavily rely on federal allocation.
“On road construction, I doubt if any past governor in the state has constructed and rehabilitated more roads than him. Just in about four years, Abiodun has brought massive development to Ogun State. One good term only deserves another. The people of the state must commend him through their votes, so that he can build on these successes in the second term,” Adegbenro submitted with sense of humility.
