2023: Nigeria Will Be Safe In My Hands, Says Atiku

Ahead of the 2023 Presidential Election, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has disclosed that Nigeria and indeed Nigerians will be safe in his hands if he emerges the winner.

This is even as he disclosed that the job of piloting the affairs of Nigeria needs amongst many other things a blend of steady and experienced hands with the talents, initiative, flexibility, and drive of Nigeria’s talented, vibrant young men and women.

Atiku made these known via a recorded message at the South-West Edition of the Atiku Abubakar Town Hall Meetings of the National Unity and Prosperity Forum 2022, powered by the Atiku Kawai Media Group, held at the MUSON Center, Lagos.

“I am aware of the daunting challenges faced by visioners as they struggle to create a nation out of an amalgamation of communities.

It requires amongst so many other things a blend of steady and experienced hands with the talents, initiative, flexibility, and drive of our talented, vibrant young men and women.

The willpower and empathy required to fix Nigeria will need a leader who knows both the historical and contemporary issues of our generations.

Nigeria and indeed Nigerians will be safe in my hands. And together, we can halt the slide and redirect our collective resources to build a prosperous country” he said.

The former vice president also reserved some praises for the organizers of the event.

“I appreciate the privilege of being able to join you all at the start of this wonderful effort initiated by our wonderful, talented, and innovative young people” he enthused.

In his welcome address, the Founder of Atiku Kawai, Abdulrasheed Shehu, said the nation is in dire need of quality leadership, and that Mr. Abubakar has all the qualities of a good leader.

“Let me appreciate your commitment and admit that nothing would have been possible without your willingness, dedication, and sacrifice for the actualization of this auspicious event, Atiku Abubakar TownHall Meeting, Lagos.

“Today, Nigeria is in need of a leader, not just a leader but someone who will put Nigeria first. Nigeria needs a leader who has the proven capacity to fix the insecurity challenges in the nation, fix the economy, and create jobs for the 55% unemployed and underemployed Nigerians,” he said.

Welcoming delegates from all over the country to the event, the Chief Strategist, Atiku Kawai Media Group, and the Chair, Atiku Abubakar Town Hall Meetings, Dare Glintstone Akinniyi urged participants to be on the lookout for the real attributes that makes a leader and to shun the jamborees that comes with elections.

“The very essence of leadership is that you must have a vision – the vision to make life better for all. Oftentimes, we discuss leadership through the scope of just one figure – be it the President or Governor or someone occupying an exalted position.

The essence of true leadership is about striving to become better in all areas of life and empowering everyone around you to become the best versions of themselves.

In a few months, the usual jamboree and noise will begin and everyone will be fixated on who becomes the next president, abandoning all other levels of government and authority. Today, we are here to discuss true leadership and the attributes to look out for in a leader on all levels, come 2023.

Personally, I believe that ‘the leader or figure’ hasn’t been the problem as such but, ‘what’ and ‘how’ ideas and policies are to be deplored.

I welcome you all again to the Second edition of the Atiku Abubakar Townhall meetings. The forum is not about one man but about a United Country for all to thrive and blossom. We have before you speakers from all sectors of our society and the interactions between the speakers will leave no stone unturned, in the areas of Patriotism and Leadership” he said.

Delivering the keynote address with the theme, In Search of a Leader: Nigeria First, Professor Anthony Kila, Professor of Strategy and Development, Director, Center for International Advanced and Professional Studies, CIAPS lamented that Nigeria is bedeviled with so many challenges ranging from security, economic and lack of identity.4

He canvassed that whosoever is aspiring to lead Nigeria and lead Nigerians into prosperity must show vision, direction, and capacity.

He lamented that the present administration has crumbled under the weight of overzealous integrity which has led to dullness.

According to one of the Lead Speakers, ace journalists, and the Spokesman of the 2019 Atiku Presidential Campaign Organization, APCO while highlighting why Atiku should be given a chance to lead Nigeria said the country needs a leader that puts Nigeria first and has the empathy to unite the country.

He charged Nigerians to cast their bread on Atiku who is capable of negotiating Nigeria’s rising debt profile, addressing the burning issue of restructuring amongst many other issues.

“The ruling All-Progressives Congress, APC campaigned vigorously on restructuring, but as soon as they got to power, they jettison it. Atiku has never been pretentious about restructuring, and I can guarantee it that Atiku will be serious about restructuring.
