The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has assured Nigerians that God would not let next year’s general elections to cause breakup of the country.

President of the umbrella body of Christians in Nigeria, Most Rev. Daniel Okoh, stated that God had already chosen leaders for the country thereby ensuring the continued existence of the country as one.

Speaking at a Christmas Concert in Asaba, Delta State capital, Okoh added that God was interested in the country’s government and would not forsake her but enjoined the citizens to vote for capable leaders that would turnaround the Nigeria’s fortunes for good.

“The coming election will not break up Nigeria. As a matter of fact, 2023 is the year of golden opportunity for Nigeria,” the CAN boss said.

“God has already chosen those who will lead the people come 2023 and since God is interested in the government and the economy of men, then the people should be involved because God will use people to turn things around for the country.”
