The Labour Party (LP) has said it is in talks with the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso, and other party stakeholders for possible alliance in the 2023 presidential election.

Director-General of the Labour Party (LP) Presidential Campaign Council, Dr. Doyin Okupe, stated during his appearance on on Channels TV that the party is still hopeful things would work out well.

“As a party, at our own campaign level, we are talking to the SDP; we are talking to even Kwankwaso and his team again. We are talking to PRP and ADC,” Okupe said.

“I believe and I trust that God will help us that between now and December, we would bring together that alignment politically in the country and the country would be better for it.”

Peter Obi, the LP presidential flagbearer and Kwankwaso had before now tried to form an alliance but the move failed when the parties failed to reach an agreement.
