2022 Hajj: Another 103 Ogun pilgrims return home

Another batch of 103 Ogun State pilgrims which comprises of 55 females and 48 males arrived Nigeria safely after a successful completion of Hajj exercise.

The Executive Secretary, Ogun State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Salau Dauda who disclosed this via a telephone interview with the Board’s Information Officers, Mrs. Nofisàt Alapoti and Mr. Gafar Alabi, said the pilgrims arrived Nigeria on Tuesday, July 26, 2022,  at exactly 1:10pm via Muritala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos aboard AZMAN Airline.

Salau who described this year’s Hajj exercise as a successful one going by the good virtues displayed by the pilgrims, saying Allah has really been merciful to the state since the operations began, while attributing the achievement recorded to the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration, especially for undiluted support given to the Board.

He  maintained that the State did not record any death, adding that the remaining officials and Ad-hoc committee members led by its Chairman, Alhaji Lawal Usain would be leaving for Nigeria soon, urging all the pilgrims to make use of the lessons learnt from the Hajj exercise.

“No successful Hajj operations without challenges, the management  of the Board  would go  back to its drawing board in order to correct the anomalies experienced in this year’s pilgrimage, Salau emphasised”.

Speaking with newsmen on their arrival at the airport, the Head of Medical team, Dr. Rabiu Kusimo said that the pilgrims had the best of the healthcare experience, saying the pilgrims returned in good health condition and there was no record of casualty.

Also speaking, two of the returning pilgrims, Alhaji Giwa Sheriff  and Alhaja Balqees Adewale expressed satisfactions over the arrangements which made the Hajj operation hitch-free, describing their stay in Mecca and Medina as an unforgettable experience.
