The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ekiti South Constituency 11 in the forthcoming March 2 general elections, Femi Bamisile, has urged the residents of Ekiti East Local Government to assist in efforts to revamp the nation’s economy that President Muhammadu Buhari is rebuilding after alleged destruction in 16 years of alleged corruption.
He said President Buhari was the only hope for a prosperous Nigeria.
He also enjoined his people to support Governor Kayode Fayemi and his wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, even as he urged residents to register for Erelu’s feeding and other empowerment schemes by the state government, stressing that only registered people would benefit from the schemes.
Bamisile spoke at campaign rallies in Omuo communities of Omuo-Ekiti, Eda-Ile, Kota, Araromi-Ugbesi and Ayegunle.
Others were Omuo-Oke, Araromi, Ikun and Ilasa-Ekiti in joint visits by the two APC House of Assembly candidates, Lateef Akanle and Juwa Adegbuyi, who are to represent Ekiti East Local Government.
They sought the residents’ support for victory.
Bamisile, who also paid courtesy visits to the palaces of royal fathers in the communities for royal blessings, said that a vote for him and other APC candidates was a guarantee for the enjoyment of APC-led government’s empowerment programmes.
He said that Omuo communities were bounded by the same destiny, noting that the progress and unity among the communities presented a hope for greater future.
Describing his ticket as a gift by the governor and party’s leadership to Ekiti East, he urged the people to maximise the benefits of that gift by voting massively for him and other candidates to reap the benefits of the “gift”.
Bamisile described Omuo-Oke as the hub of Ekiti East entrepreneurship, which made biggest contribution in tax and rates to the local government purse.

He also praised the community for lending support for the peace among other surrounding communities, which, he said, had accounted for the development being witnessed in the communities.
Noting the cooperation among the aspirants during party’s primaries and support given to the eventual winners in the run up to the March 2 poll, he said such gesture represented the oneness of spirit for as successful poll.
Bamisile urged the people to emulate the contestants by uniting to vote for all APC candidates, including presidential candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari, who he described as a honest and visionary leader that means well for the country.
While urging support for the administration of Fayemi for his love for Ekiti East, he also canvassed support for Prince Dayo Adeyeye, who he described as a good leader that has the love of his people at heart.
He also cautioned against politics of bitterness, even as he stressed the need to cooperate with the government of the day to enjoy the benefits of belonging to the ruling party.
Akanle said having served and lived among the residents for a long time, he understood their pains , promising that he would alleviate their sufferings as he did in the past while he was chairman of Ekiti East.
In turns, Akanle and Adegbuyi described APC as a party that keeps promise, noting that so far, the state government led by APC had demonstrated that it is a party that takes the people’s welfare as its priority.
“APC will provide free education, social security for the elderly, empowerment schemes for the youth and women while government will also create conditions that will encourage employment opportunities,” he said.
Akanle added that Buhari represented the aspirations and symbol of a new Nigeria where wealth creation and distribution among all Nigerians was a creed and vision for the growth of Nigeria.
All the monarchs demanded for development projects, including roads, water, electricity, and job opportunities for youths, among others.
The candidates were urged to write their names in gold by executing life-lifting projects in their constituencies.
