2018, a turbulent year for Benue People, says Gov. Ortom

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Tuesday, described 2018 as a ‘turbulent  year for Benue people’.

The governor also congratulated the people of the state for weathering the storm throughout 2018.

According to the statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, he was quoted as saying, “The governor appreciates God for taking Benue through what he describes as a turbulent year 2018, and states that 2019 is a year of victory for the people of the state.”

The governor urged the people of the state to remain faithful and trust in God for guidance and success in the face of challenges.

Governor Ortom also implored the people to sustain their support of his administration and security agencies in peace building, to guarantee the safety of lives and property.

He said 2019 would be a decisive year for the country as Nigerians prepare to go to the polls to choose their leaders.

Ortom expressed the hope that this year’s elections would be hitch-free, fair and credible, stressing that no form of manipulation of the electoral process would succeed.

”Governor Ortom wishes Benue people a prosperous New Year,”  the statement said.
