Twenty members of the Cross River State House of Assembly were on Monday sacked by the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.
The court, in a judgement by the presiding judge, Justice Taiwo Taiwo, ruled their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) was unlawful having been elected on the platform of the PDP.

The judge held that since they had abandoned the political party that sponsored them to power, their seats should become vacant.
