2 die in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway accident

 

Two persons have been confirmed dead in an accident on the long bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Monday.

 

The Ogun State spokesperson of The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)
Mrs Florence Okpe, who confirmed the incident in Abeokuta on Monday said that one person was injured in the accident.

 

She said that the accident involved a Mazda bus marked EDE 217 XB, and a MAN diesel truck with registration number AJL 715 XA.

According to her, the accident which occurred at 5:38 am was caused by a road obstruction and fatigue.

“The injured victim was taken to Hopeland Hospital, Warewa while the remains of the deceased were deposited at the morgue of Real Divine Hospital, Ibafo”.

Okpe said that the Sector Commander, Akinwumi Fasakin, advised motorists to always be on alert while driving.

He also called on motorists to always have some rest to avoid fatigue while at the wheel.
