Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Usman Belel, said 15,544 personnel have been deployed to the state to ensure violence free polls.
Belel who spoke while briefing journalists on Thursday in Port Harcourt, said the police is prepared to ensure smooth and violent free elections in the state.
The CP further declared restriction of movements on the election day,, saying that no personalities and politicians in the state would be allowed to the voting centre with their police orderlies.
Belel said that, the formation of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Elections Security (ICCES), adequate security would be provided before, during and after the polls in the state.
He announced that all entry and exit points in Rivers would be blocked, adding that movement would not be restricted in and out of the state until the elections are over.

He added that there will be prohibition religion activities during the exercise, saying “as same is intended to provide a conductive atmosphere for free, fair, credible and violence-free elections that will stand the test of time”.
The state Police boss however, demanded strict compliance to the orders given, warning that defaulters would be arrested and made to face the law.
