Alleged Sexual Assault: I don’t know Ekiti Justice Ministry official who took 15-yr-old girl away from my school since April 29 – Christ School Principal
As the Ekiti State Government, through the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Wale Fapounda refused to release the 15 year-old student of Christ Girls Secondary School, Ado Ekiti, who allegedly accused former member of the Ekiti state House of Assembly, Dr. Samuel Omotoso of sexual harassment, to her mother, the School Principal, Mrs. Esan Oluremi Agbaje, has said she does not know the identity of the Justice Ministry official who took the girl away from her since April 29th, 2021.
The Principal who told our reporter on phone that a lawyer in the Ministry of Justice took the girl away on April 29th, 2021, and she has not seen her since then.
In a video which went viral on social media, a 47-year-old widow, Mrs. Aina Obafemi, who is the girl’s mother had said that she had not seen her daughter since last April and that the girl was being used to settle political scores against the wish of her family.
Mrs. Obafemi went further to call on the Principal of Christ Girl’s School, Ado-Ekiti, Mrs. Esan Oluremi Agbaje and the State Attorney General, Mr. Wale Fapohunda, to release her daughter to her.
She said the State Government, especially and its lawyer (the Attorney General, Mr Wale Fapounda) can not love her daughter more than her, hence the government should release her daughter.
Explaining her role in the controversy, the Principal said; “The said girl is in my school. She is in JSS2.
“She said a PA to an SSA in Erelu Fayemi’s office was the one who instructed that I should use the school bus to remove the girl from where she stays and keep her in the hostel.
“Telling me to remove a girl and keep her in the hostel should not be a crime now.
“One Barrister, who the principal claimed not to know her name came to take the statement of the girl and that of her mother on April 29th, 2021, that’s all.
“Since then, the Barrister has come to take this girl away. I even asked her for record purpose, where he was keeping the girl, she said I should just say “under the Ministry of Justice”.
“That’s what the Barrister told me.
“Since that April 29, 2021, I don’t even know where she is.
Asked whether the girl’s parent was aware, the Principal said; “I don’t know.
“I don’t even know the identity of the Ministry of Justice official that took the girl away.”
