Alleged rape: Nigerian celebrities show support for Singer Timi Dakolo’s wife, Busola

Earlier, on Friday, June 28, the social media was with reactions to the rape allegation against COZA church Pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo by singer Timi Dakolo’s wife, Busola.

The 6min 12sec video shows Busola narrating her ordeal to Ynaija founder, Chude Jideonwo, sighting that the pastor raped her right in the house at the age of 17.

Although mixed reactions have continued to trail the outburst with some saying that the pastor should not be painted black until he is proven guilty by any court of law with prove to back the claim; and others with the view that this could not have been the first time the pastor would be involved in a scandal like this.

Some top Nigerian celebrities have made clear their stand on the issue. This included Toke Makinwa, Kate Henshaw, Mercy Johnson Okojie, Annie Idibia, Banky W, amongst others.

Weighing in his support for Busola Dakolo was ace musician, Banky W, who said,” This was so hard to watch. I am so sorry you went through this nightmare but I am so proud of you for sharing your truth.

“You did not speak up for yourself alone but for all the voiceless victims who have suffered similar horrors at the hand of predators like him. Sending love, light and support, we are standing by you and Timi.”

Also commending her bold step was actress Kate Henshaw, who wrote, “Courage is not the absence of fear, it is facing your truth, standing tall and speaking out in spite of it… You don’t know how many you have given strength to.”

Also commenting on the issue was actress Mercy Johnson’Okojie. ” This is victory, there are so many scars but this is a victory to defeat the voice and the hand that tried to silence you.

“And this is marriage, to share a love so deep that it becomes a source of strength in the deepest pain.

“I stand with you at this time and always, you are such an example to every relationship’ she said.

However, efforts to get Timi Dakolo and Pastor Fatoyinbo proved abortive as at the time of filling this report.
