There was tension around Dakwa, DeiDei area, a suburb situated around the Zuba, Suleja road, Federal Capital Territory when suspected terrorists invaded the community between 12 and 1.30am on Sunday and kidnapped four persons, leaving many injured.
According to Blueprint, an eyewitness who pleaded anonymity told Blueprint that some group of Bandits came to the community and started operations which caused serious tension.
He said they started the operation from Rufaida Yougout in Dakwa to Buy filling station down to Hasmos school in the area.
He said it was a serious gun battle between the vigilantes and the bandits and at the end, they kidnapped four people and left many injured.
“As I speak at 9am this Sunday morning, there are so many military presence and other senior police officers in Dakwa right now trying to observe what really happened at night.
“We tried our best in our little way in drawing all the necessary security attention to the incident but all efforts could not stop them from taking away those people,” he said .
A resident, Madam Alice Jacob, said she heard serious gun shots but couldn’t come out, and that the shootout lasted for almost 30 minutes.
Another resident, one Mr Bala Usman, who also confirmed the incident to Blueprint, urged the government to come to their aide in securing the lives and properties of residents in the area.
He called on residents of the community to inform the security and relate with the necessary authorities when the need arises.
As at the time of filling this report, the FCT Force PPRO, FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, was yet to comment on the incident when contacted.
