Again, bandits on rampage in Kaduna, kill 12, injure 9, torch 17 houses

Bandits are unrelenting on their bloody campaign, attacking Gindin Dutse Makyali in Kufana district of Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State and leaving behind wanton destruction of life and property.

 

 

 

 

 

 

By the time the attack was over, the marauders had killed 12 people and inflicted varying degrees of injuries on nine others while also razing 17 houses.

 

 

 

 

The rampaging bandits reportedly invaded the community in the wee hours of Sunday while the people slept, shooting sporadically.

Moses Musa, one of the community leaders, informed journalists that the attack occurred near a military checkpoint, adding that the deceased victims were burnt to death inside their rooms.

 

 

 

 

 

He said the attack lasted for some hours without any resistance from the military, which was stationed in the community.

 

 

 

 

 

This happened long long after the Friday invasion of Kauru and Igabi local government areas during which the bandits killed nine persons and abducted 35 others, including a retired director of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), his younger brother and his wife in Kwassam and Sabon Layin communities.

Meanwhile, Governor Uba Sani, who has been working with security forces, to find solution for the incessant attacks condemned the attacks in strong terms.

 

 

 

 

He also directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to urgently assist the affected communities and victims of the attack on Kajuru and Igabi LGAs.

 

 

 

 

According to Samuel Aruwan, the state Commissioner of Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Sani restated his government’s resolve to  addressing  insecurity in the state.
