FIFA match agent, Ebi Egbe has tasked the Restoration Starlets of Yenagoa to ensure they do the state and country proud in the maiden edition of the Africa Youth Cup billed to kick off this weekend in Praia, Cape Verde.
Egbe while charging the team to go all out in the youth tournament also hailed Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson for sponsoring the team to the competition, which is attracting teams from different parts of the world, including the youth team of top Portuguese club, Benfica.
The Bayelsa State born Stadium construction expert said Dickson’s decision to sponsor the Restoration Starlets to the youth tourney would have a positive impact on football in the state.
“What Dickson has done would bring out the best in Bayelsa youths who have football talent. The youths now know that they can go places in the round leather game. I pray the Restoration Starlets would go out there and make history in Cape Verde by winning the maiden edition of the tournament,” Egbe said.
Egbe who is the Chief Executive Officer of Monimichelle, a stadium construction outfit, noted that the Africa Youth Cup in Cape Verde is a perfect avenue to expose the Restoration Starlets to the world, given the fact that several international football scouts would be Praia to be part of the tournament which runs from April 19-27.
The Restoration Starlets is a team made of players selected from the Restoration Cup organized last year for Bayelsa communities by the Bayelsa State government.
Dickson had during the 2018 Restoration Cup, promised to take the talents discovered by the state coaches on a playing tour or to a competition outside the shores of the country, a promise he is now fulfilling with the Cape Verde outing.
