Confusion ensued at the election petitions tribunal in Adamawa, on Tuesday, when two opposing counsels announced their appearance for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in its petition against the victory of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at the 2019 Adamawa State governorship election.

Whereas Aliyu Bakari, APC Vice Chairman (Adamawa Central), announced appearance for the party alongside Smart Ukpanah, CP Eze Okoye, led a team of other lawyers to also appear for the APC with the support of the party’s treasurer in the state, Mohammed Adamu.
Consequent upon the ensuing confusion, Justice A.A. Adebara, chairman of the tribunal adjourned the matter to July 15, 2019, to hear both the motion and the substantive matter and advised the opposing APC counsels to resolve the matter.
