The Adamawa State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned, in strong terms, and distance themselves from the actions of Sen. Elisha Ishaku Abbo.
Addressing a press conference, on Thursday, the state chairman of the party Barr. A T. Sheri said the party was irked by the senator’s action and cannot fathom any acceptable reason for his actions.
“We the people of Adamawa and in particular members of the PDP, are irked by the reactiveness of Senator Abbo on an issue that would have been otherwise resolved amicably.”

“In a communal relationship, it is expected that misunderstanding may arise but what is important, is the way and manner in which they are handled, men of honor and particularly elected legislative officers should not, either in private or public molest, assault or degrade any person Moreso a woman”, the chairman stated.
He, however, called upon the lady who was assaulted, her family and Nigerians to forgive the excesses of the senator.
“We plead with the generality of Nigerian and particularly the female folks to find space in their hearts to forgive Abbi based on the fact that he has tendered an unreserved apology to the lady in question, and we believe that the senator has learned his lesson the hard way,” he stated.
The party also supports the action of the Senate but urged the Senate panel to show magnanimity and temper justice with mercy in its investigations.
