The death of comedienne, Mmesoma Obi, popularly called Ada Jesus has ignited fury on social media. Nigerians are furious with Onitsha-based Pastor, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, also known as Odumeje that he would claim that his God may have inflicted the comedienne with illness for insulting him.
They say the clergyman will use her death to further drive fear into the hearts of both his followers and critics alike as an example of what could happen to them if they ‘touch God’s anointed’.
Social media was rife after the death of Ada Jesus broke on Wednesday with many lashing out at Odumeje for entangling himself with her predicament.
Those who linked her death to Odumeje said no one should refer to him as a pastor after he refused to forgive the comedienne when she came to ask for his forgiveness for criticizing his miracles.
“Either Ada Jesus died of a Spiritual attack or illness the question is what does it take to forgive people, what?! Odumeje & Rita Edochie and others who cannot forgive easily, how do you ask God for forgiveness?” @Bigijohnydatatalk1 said,
Others said that even though her death may be of natural causes, Odumeje has been emboldened to latch on to it as what can happen to anyone who insults him.
But many said the comedienne simply died because of the failure of the healthcare system in Nigeria.
“Ada Jesus is dead. Odumeje just got another bragging right even when he has nothing to do with it but we all know who he is. We won’t hear word again. His God must be so danjelous,” @OdogwuAchina said on Twitter.
Penultimate week, Ada Jesus, Odumeje and Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie made headlines when she was brought to the clergyman for forgiveness as she battled renal failure.
Odumeje and Edochie initially refused to forgive the comedienne, prompting Nigerians to question their type of Christianity.
In what seems to be a change of heart, both Edochie and Odumeje made a U-turn and announced that they have forgiven her.
Odumeje later sent the family of Ada Jesus N1million for medical treatment. The family rejected the money saying they only craved his forgiveness.
