The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and former head of the former Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Mr. Abba Kyari, .
He was nabbed after he had been declared wanted over to alleged involvement with a drugs cartel.
Femi Babafemi, spokesman of the anti-drug agency, had addressed a press conference, detailing Kyari’s alleged link with the drug cartel, operating the Brazil-Ethiopia-Nigeria illicit drug route.

Kyari was recently in the eye of the storm when the US FBI requested for his extradition, following alleged deals with a suspected international fraudster, Ramon Abass, popularly known as Hushpuppi.
He was alleged to have benefitted from a scam carried out by Hushpuppi and his gang in Dubai and even helped to imprison one of Hushpuppi’s associates in Nigeria.
The controversy had led to his suspension and is yet unresolved.
