Seven health workers have tested positive for the Cooronavirus in Borno State, as 15 cases were recorded, including two fatalities.
The state Commissioner for Health, Salihu Kwaya-Bura, who is also the Secretary, Borno High Powered Response Team on Covid-19, made the revelation in Maiduguri on Friday while giving an update on the Covid-19 pandemic in the state.
He added: “145 contacts of the confirmed cases have been traced and are being monitored.
“We received nine alerts from the public; seven were investigated and none is worthy of follow up while two are still being investigated.”
Kwaya-Bura lauded the people for their level of compliance with the lockdown, hinting that it would be modified because of Ramadan.
“We want to see how we can allow those selling ice water, bean cake, tea and bread to operate within their wards so that people can break their fast,” he said.
