Four members of Labour Party (LP) in the House of Representatives on Thursday, defected to the All progressives Congress (APC).
The lawmakers are Chinedu Okere (Owerri municipal/Owerri north/Owerri west constituency), Mathew Donatus (Kaura Federal Constituency of Kaduna), Akiba Bassey (Calabar municipal/Odukpani Constituency), and Esosa Iyawe (Oredo federal constituency of Edo).

One of the defectors, Mathew, said his moving camp has the backing of his constituency, saying, “You cannot just work on the decision of the people at the constituency level because you are dealing with people with different levels of understanding.”
Meanwhile, the Senate will be reviewing the controversial Tax Reform Bill with the Attorney General of the Federation.
This development follows the suspension on Wednesday of further actions on the controversial Bill by the Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau.
Barau revealed that the Attorney General of the Federation would meet with the committee to ensure that all parties would be given the opportunity to vent their feelings, after which the meeting would arrive at a rational conclusion.
The review process he said, would take place in Abuja on Thursday, December 5.
The chairman of the bill review committee, Senator Anna Moro alongside his team members are expected to meet with the AGF today.
They are expected to address the contentious issues associated with the tax reform bills, which have generated various concerns across the country.
