Four staff members died in a fire accident that occurred at a lounge and bar in Baale Road, Olodi Apapa area on Sunday.
Lagos State Police Command spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident to journalists in Lagos on Monday.
According to Hundeyin, a distress call was received at the Tolu Police Division that fire gutted a lounge and bar on Sunday at 07:45 a.m.
“Based on the report, teams of policemen and firefighters were swiftly mobilised to the scene and the fire was successfully put out as a result of the efforts of all the teams.
“Four of the company’s staff, who are yet to be identified got burnt beyond recognition in the fire.
“The corpses have been evacuated to Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) Morgue, Yaba for autopsy, ” he said.
The police public relations officer said that the cause of the fire and value of the property destroyed were yet unknown while an investigation was in progress.
